Continually Improving | A commitment to CQI

 

In 2012, we launched our initial pilot project.  This initial phase allowed us to gather useful and interesting data.  At McMAP headquarters, we fully believe in a PDSA model (Plan-Do-Study-Act) of continuous quality improvement.  We have just completed our first cycle, and based on feedback from our residents and clinical teachers we are moving into this new online system. 

 

Evidence-Based Education

 

As part of the 'Study' part of our PDSA cycle, we are also beginning some validity and reliability studies on our rich collection of resident assessment data.  As we move into Competency-Based Medical Education, scholarly approaches like this will be important to inform big changes in assessment paradigms. 

 

We will also continue to evaluate ongoing resident assessment metrics in concert with local educational experts in order to better inform our decision-making in an evidence based way.
